Arbuckle Veterinary Clinic

Great people that truly care about your pets

Amazing veterinarian, really listened and was very patient, I highly recommend this clinic, I didn't feel like I was being pressured to do unnecessary procedures and he seemed to really care. I really felt listened to, and that is so important to me, and becoming a rare quality. Thank you.

I took my dog, Pete, to Hilltop Veterinary Hospital for a routine dental cleaning. Before the procedure, he was healthy and active. After I brought him home, his condition changed dramatically. I expressed my concerns because he had been fine before the dental procedure, but I felt they were dismissed rather than taken seriously. Over the next six weeks, Pete was treated for kennel cough, yet I never felt he received a thorough examination to determine what was actually wrong. During that time, his condition continued to decline. Eventually, I transferred his care to Arbuckle Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Winn diagnosed him with congestive heart failure instead of kennel cough. Looking back, I can’t help but wonder if an earlier, more thorough evaluation could have led to a quicker diagnosis and treatment. What was most disappointing was the lack of compassion and communication I experienced. At one point, I was told the veterinarian only returned my call because he had an appointment cancellation. As a worried pet owner, that was incredibly hurtful to hear. After transferring to Arbuckle Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Winn treated Pete with compassion, kindness, and respect. She took the time to listen, thoroughly evaluate him, and explain his condition. Although I ultimately lost Pete, I will always be grateful for the care and empathy she showed both of us during one of the hardest times of my life.
