Honor Heights Veterinary Clinic

Vet explained everything well. He really cares about the animals he treats.

Please do not trust CareVet of Honor Heights with your beloved pets. Tragically, a series of egregious medical errors, a refusal to listen to my concerns, and a complete failure of basic care caused the death of my 9-pound Maltese in just 20 days. Dr. Hamilton blindly prescribed over the phone a potent diuretic for my dog without doing the required diagnostics (physical exam, X-rays, and bloodwork) and without proper monitoring. Dr. Hamilton refused to consider side effects of this potent drug and dismissed them as stomach issues. He then prescribed overdoses of an anti-diarrheal and antibiotic which compounded the toxicity. He then ignored anorexia as a side effect of all the drugs and dismissed it as being “picky” and prescribed multiple dog foods, an antacid, and appetite stimulant, further compounding the toxic load on my dog’s kidneys. DURING THIS 3-WEEK PERIOD, DR. HAMILTON NEVER ASKED TO SEE MY DOG IN PERSON. In 20 days, my dog’s kidneys were completely destroyed and I had to euthanize him. After decades of using this clinic it is hard to write this, but the level of negligence, dismissiveness, and dangerous prescribing practices is an immediate threat to your pet’s life. I have filed a formal complaint with the Oklahoma State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. Do not let your pet be next. Please, take them somewhere else where they will be physically examined and safely treated and your voice as an owner will be heard.
