Sunset Veterinary Clinic

My experiences at Sunset are always professional, friendly, time-effective and result driven. I’m very happy with their services. Kathy Allen Lola’s Mom

We have been using Sunset Veterinary Clinic since around 2008, and over the years they have cared for many of our Golden Retrievers. Today we have six Goldens, all of whom are patients at Sunset, and when we were breeding, they also cared for our puppies. After nearly 20 years, what keeps us coming back is the quality of the veterinarians and how much they genuinely care about our dogs. When you have as many animals as we do, you get to know the doctors pretty well, and we have always enjoyed visiting with them and appreciated the personal relationship they have developed with us and our Goldens. They know our dogs, they know us, and we trust their medical care. Sunset is definitely on the more expensive side, and we understand the doctors and staff don't necessarily have control over pricing decisions made by management or ownership. While we wish some of the costs were more competitive, the quality of care has kept us loyal for many years. My only other constructive criticism would be regarding some comments from a younger front-desk staff member about breeding. Responsible breeders care deeply about the health and well-being of their dogs and puppies, and a veterinary office should be a place where clients feel supported rather than judged. A little more thoughtfulness in those conversations would go a long way. Overall, we have trusted Sunset with generations of our Golden Retrievers for nearly two decades. The veterinarians are excellent, compassionate, and genuinely care about our animals. That long relationship and trust is ultimately why we continue to bring all six of our Goldens to Sunset.

Sunset is genuinely one of the best vet clinics I’ve ever been to and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone living in Edmond. I have a dog who gets extremely nervous at the vets office and Dr Downs brought him a pup cup and got on his level and was such a calming presence for him! I just recently took in a stray cat and it was the same experience! She met him where he was at and allowed him to explore the room and kept him so calm the whole time. This is definitely the longest review I’ve ever written, but these people are so so kind they deserve it :,,,) (The only potential negative is the price - they’re very open about pricing though, so definitely call ahead of time to ask for an estimate!!)

An awesome experience!! I’m new to Edmond and my husky mix developed an ear infection in our new environment. She is not the most compliant patient but Dr Downs and Carli handled her beautifully and with so much patience and compassion! I have found my new veterinary clinic!!!

Always a good visit
